Girls Group Therapy

Like-minded interaction helps overcome struggles.

Girls groups are designated for teenage girls who need self-confidence, have trouble communicating, are interested in bonding, or struggling through their adolescent years.

It is a six-session series that is held once a week. Each session is for one and a half hours. The girls come together and discuss real life situations that they deal with daily.

The girls are given an opportunity to reflect after each session on the topic discussed. If emotional feelings are triggered by a topic or something comes up, each girl is offered an individual session.

Each week the group discusses a different topic; therefore, if you miss a session when you return, you will be able to join right in.

Each session involves three parts.

Have questions?

Hi there, it’s great to hear from you! If you would like to contact us, please feel free to reach out to me via email or phone. We look forward to hearing from you!

First part is making connections.

This is where the group is given the topic at hand. The girls do an activity where they start connecting on how they have experienced the topic.

Second part is the discussion of the topic.

An activity is initiated that allows everyone in the group a chance to talk and discuss their thoughts and feelings about the topic.

Last part is the thinking portion of the topic.

This is when the girls are motivated to continue to use the information learned during discussions. They are encouraged to continue thinking about the positivity when they enter back into their world and implement it into their daily routines.

Screening is required before the group is established

Prior to joining the group, each interested participant must complete a screening interview.

We do the screening to provide information, such as when the group will take place, discuss confidentiality, and give detail information about the topics that will be discussed.

If the individual is interested in participating, they will be given a consent slip for them and their parents to sign prior to attending any group sessions.

Assessments are used to evaluate progress

A pre-test questionnaire is done at the beginning, and a post-test is conducted at the end of the six-week series.

We compare the two tests to determine if any progress was made from participating in the group.

Everyone is welcome to return and join any future groups.
